Victoria- On Wednesday, Victoria Police Detectives arrested and charged 62- year old Joseph Andrew Diruzzo and 59-year old Timothy McMahan with 16 counts of illegal practice of medicine. McMahan is charged with being an accomplice to these offenses.

According to Sergeant Guerra with the Victoria Police Department the two men, posing as doctors, were brought to the attention of law enforcement by a patient who claimed they were providing medical assistance to them without a legal license to do so.

Which Guerra said after some time of investigating officials found reason to believe it was true and issued the warrants for their arrest of illegal practice of medicine.

“The illegal practice of medicine in this case is Mr. Diruzzo providing medical treatment without a license to do so,” Guerra said.

Police said the two men were practicing illegally in Victoria County, but officials have not released the location of their practice.

Diruzzo and McMahan are both being held on a one million dollar bond.
