The small Lavaca County town of Moulton bids a heartwarming farewell to one of its longtime Men in Blue.

After reporting for duty every day for 38 years, Lavaca County Precinct 2 Constable Joe Nieto is taking to retirement.

Elected into office in 1972, Constable Nieto has gained the love and respect of the many residents he served to protect.

In honor of Nieto, the entire community of Moulton gathered at the City's Park to give him the proper goodbye that he so well deserved.

Nieto was given a plaque at Tuesday nights gathering of a special proclamation designating August 31st as his official day in the City of Moulton and in Lavaca County.

As far as his retirement goes, Nieto says he'll be spending it enjoying time with his wife, kids and many, many grandchildren.
